Well Boys I can say without a
doubt Last night at Gillett WI really hurt me ....I couldn't get any traction
what so ever and my wheel speed just wasn't enough to get the job done...I
finished 13th out of 17 Truck in Super Stock and 5th out of 9 Trucks in Modified
....
So that currently puts me in 5th place in points in Super Stock and 4th place in
points in Mod.
Now comes my delima .. I'm sitting in first place in the Shoto Club in both
classes, and 4th and 5th in Wumpa... And they both have pulls on Sat. ... if I
go to Wumpa I'll miss Shoto .. If I go to Shoto and miss Wumpa I feel I let my
Main Club Down ....
What's One to do .....
Lucky Me
Well talked to the Guy who's
putting on the pull in Powers.. Told him how I had Two pulls to make today , and
ask if he'd mine reversing the pulling order so I could make both of them today
... He said no problem .. COOL
)
Then as I was changing to my Mod tires this A.M. and I broke my Eletric
Impact... Cool Had time to run to town and get a new one of those ...The Pulling
Gods are looking out for me today .....
Lucky ...........Not so Lucky
Well
like I said earlier today I got the guy to flip the rotation of the pulling in
the Wumpa club so Mod went first and worked our way down the list.....Figured if
it STARTED on time 12:00 Noon
.. hehehe (Ya like when does that ever happen right).
Then I could be done pulling in Mod. and Super Stock and loaded up and on the
road by 1:00 P.M. with a 2 1/2 hr drive to Marible for the Shoto Pull to be
there with a few minutes to spare to register ......
Well the way it played out was Woke up at 4:00 A.M. afraid if I went back to
sleep I'd miss the Alarm I had set for 6:00 A.M. and all the things I had to do
today was running through my brain.. So got up and fumbled around the house till
I could see good enough
with the morning Sunrise, And then went out a changed over to the Bar tires for
Mod. Which I just changed over to the DOT the day before Cuz I wasn't going to
pull in Powers at all. Until I called Jim at 10:30 P.M. and got the rotation
reversed...
Left for Powers MI at 8:00 A.M. and got there at 9:00 to register, Pulled 5th
spot to pull in Mod and 4th in Super Stock ...Great Just what I wanted
......Went to the Park and got all set up, parked next to gate so I couldn't get
blocked in. And mingled with the other pullers Until the drivers Meeting at
11:45 A.M. Everything going like Clock work..
A few of the Mod/Super Guys thought pulling first was a Great Change of pace ...
And couple accused me of using my Power as Club Sec./ Treas. to influence the
Pull Organizer to flip the rotation..( Maybe I did ??)
But then At Noon the Announcer informed us that the Water truck was 30 minutes
away and the pulling was going to have to wait till he got there ....there was a
Meeting of Club officials and it was ruled to start without the water truck..
BUT After they let one truck go down the track, nobody couldn't see anything but
the dust cloud that seem to hang for ever in the still midday Air ......the pull
was put on hold till the water truck showed up...
Water truck showed up at 12:35 and started to Sprinkle water on the track .
At 12:30 I figured I had no time to waste so I started to Change back to the DOT
tire. Figured if they could get going by 12:40 I'd pull Mod with the DOT tires
and load up and head out....But that didn't happen either So I Chained ShaZam
down and headed out at 12:55 with them still watering down the track with a crop
sprayer truck...So if any good came from this it was that I got my 10 Hook
points for each class I registering in and for showing up to pull....
OK Road trip ...... Made it to Maribel with ten Minutes to spare.... Register
for both the light and heavy Super stock Classes... Was informed that because
the Horse pulls started late that the Truck would be about 1 hour late to start
...
(See what I mean about starting things on TIME.)
OK Mingled again with the other Shoto Truck Pullers..
Oh Ya Did I mention they don't like me to much down there... I could read there
lips as I pulled in.. Oh $#!+ he made it in time ..
Well I took 1st in the light Class with most of the truck pulling it to the 280
to 290 mark .. I full pulled it 300 + ft and I had to put on the brakes at the
290 mark to stop at 315 ft mark ...
Well the 6250 class was a different story ...there was 4 Trucks to take it out
the end I was the last one to full pull it...So we came back around for the pull
off ..They made a few adjustment on the eliminator and the pull off's begin...
Well I ended up taking 3rd place .. Once again they dropped both chains and the
weight box got me sleeping again ..My fault ...
Well I'll just have to keep trying to do better .. The other Trucks are getting
better at every pull also .. Could it be that maybe I should just keep my mouth
shut when I'm asked how to make there trucks better.. My Dad says I give away to
much info to these guys about how to make this that and the other thing work
....But I told my Dad I learned alot for the guys on this Board and I'm just
passing on what I learned here ....
Like I told one of the guys there tonight.. When everyone in the club pulls to
with in 2 feet of each other then I'll be happy... and then We'll go kick some
butt in Central Wisconsin ....
